Econ alumnus George Henderson is a lawyer and he forwarded some documents on Chrysler's bankruptcy. I know some of you are considering law school and thought you might find these interesting!
Here is the original he sent (the petition from Chrysler to declare bankruptcy):

Mr. Henderson says about the next three: "This is an unusual item - but then the US treasury does not usually have such a big stake in the debtor. The pleading has 2 items in support from the Secty of Treasury."

On these next two he writes: "This is an important operating pleading - to allow Chrysler to pay "critical vendors" to keep goods coming in from people that have unpaid prepetition claims. There is a long running debate about the propriety of paying some but not all claimants their full prepetition claims. The memorandum sets out the "pro" side. "

Two more: "...here are two of the key pleadings - - The Debtors' motion to sell assets under section 363 and the "Non TARP" lenders [non-bank lenders] objection."

If you have any questions, I'm sure Mr. Henderson would be glad to answer them!
